A GLIMPSE INTO THE SPACES I’VE REIMAGINED

No matter the medium, I start by listening — to how you live, how you move, and how you want a space to feel. Then I design with empathy and refine every detail until it feels just right.

REIMANINGED WITH INTENTION

A traditional brick colonial reimagined into a calm, modern exterior with stronger contrast and elevated presence.

A rarely used formal sitting room transformed into a sophisticated home office with richer contrast, custom cabinetry, and a purpose-driven layout.

An uninspired guest bathroom redefined into a boutique-style retreat featuring natural warmth, quiet luxury, and everyday comfort.

01

The modernized Colonial

Breathing new life into the familiar

Curb appeal reimagined — from dated colonial to modern timeless elegance. This classic brick home had solid architectural bones, but felt visually heavy and outdated. The goal was to create a home that felt calmer, more refined, and confidently modern — aligned with the family’s evolving style while increasing curb appeal and long-term value.

BEFORE

A white two-story house with black accents, surrounded by green trees and landscaped garden with bushes and grass, on a paved driveway.

AFTER

Design Approach

  • Removed outdated shutters, ornate door topper, and the original glass attic window (which visually mimicked a “third eye”), eliminating awkward imbalance and visual heaviness.

  • Installed a clean-lined black overhang to provide both weather protection and a more grounded, modern entry moment.

  • Replaced the old door with a black-framed glass entry to visually widen the façade, draw in natural light, and create a stronger focal point.

  • Painted the vertical step risers white for contrast and cohesion while keeping the red brick treads to honor the home’s original character and add a subtle touch of warmth.

  • Repaired and refreshed landscaping to complement the new contrast-forward palette and enhance sightlines.

The Outcome

What was once visually heavy and dated is now brighter, more expansive, and confidently modern. The simplified entry, stronger contrast, and refined proportions make the home feel larger, lighter, and more intentional — while preserving just enough original brick to honor its roots.

The formal to functional office

Breathing purpose into an unused space

Once a rarely used formal sitting room defined by deep red walls and heavy furniture, this space felt more decorative than livable. The goal was to completely reimagine its function and atmosphere—transforming it into a refined home office with a purpose-driven layout that supports focus, productivity, and everyday ease.

Living room with red walls, hardwood floors, a red velvet sofa, two upholstered armchairs, a round coffee table with flowers, and a window showing snow outside.

BEFORE

AFTER

Design Approach

  • Designed custom built-ins with sleek push-to-open doors for a clean, modern aesthetic and seamless storage.

  • Integrated two-tier cabinet sections to discreetly conceal printers and daily-use items, keeping the visual field clean and uncluttered.

  • Finished the built-ins in deep navy to ground the space and add contrast, balanced with white accents and greenery for brightness and cohesion.

  • Installed French doors to elevate the entryway, introduce natural light, and create a subtle visual separation for work calls without sacrificing aesthetics.

The Outcome

The room now feels grounded, sophisticated, and intentionally lived in — a focused environment that blends modern elegance with everyday practicality. While French doors don’t fully close off sound, they offer visual privacy and a stronger sense of space during work calls, adding both presence and intention to the main floor.

With multiple living areas already on the first level and the previous upstairs office repurposed as a guest or playroom, this transformation introduced a more functional use of square footage. The new office is now conveniently located, used daily for work-from-home, and fully aligned with the lifestyle and rhythm of the home.

The Spa guest retreat

From builder-grade to boutique serenity

Once a builder-grade guest bathroom with a dated tub, cold tile, and an awkward dividing wall that offered no privacy, the space felt sterile, cramped, and visually disconnected. The goal was to remove the heaviness and introduce warmth, flow, and a calming, boutique-level experience grounded in natural tones and texture.

A modern bathroom with beige textured tile walls, a wooden vanity with a stone vessel sink, a round mirror, and a shower area with a curtain. Decor includes shelves with vases, towels, and toiletries.

Design Approach

  • Removed the unnecessary dividing wall between the vanity and toilet to open up the layout and improve functionality and flow.

  • Replaced the cold-feeling tile floor with large-format greige porcelain for a warmer, softer foundation.

  • Installed floor-to-ceiling Zellige tile on key walls, including around the shower, to introduce handcrafted texture, light-catching depth, and a spa-like sensory experience.

  • Upgraded the outdated tub to a deep soaking bath for a more restorative and luxurious bathing moment.

  • Added a built-in shower niche for streamlined storage with a cleaner visual impact.

  • Customized the vanity and introduced a hand-carved travertine vessel sink to bring organic warmth and sculptural presence.

  • Selected a wall-mounted faucet and modern mirror for visual lightness and sophistication.

  • Layered brass and black fixtures for an elevated contrast.

  • Installed updated overhead and sconce lighting to create ambient, layered illumination.

The Outcome

The bathroom now feels like a boutique retreat for guests—warm, calm, and quietly luxurious. What was once sterile and segmented is now open, flowing, and grounded in natural texture and tone. The deeper soaking tub invites slower moments, while the sculptural vessel sink and elevated finishes bring intentional beauty into daily use. Layered lighting softens the atmosphere, transforming everyday routines into something more restful and refined. It no longer functions as just a room — it feels like an experience.

It’s the little things

— the feel of a texture,

the way light dances across a surface,

the rhythm of a space —

that truly bring a home or an experience to life, making it something you don’t just see, but genuinely feel. These everyday moments keep me inspired and grounded.
